Duration

Solo Designer

1 Month, 1 Week

Background

Dollars. Bucks. Bills. They’re synonymous with the United States currency. They have international use and acceptance and are a symbol of America. Compared to other global bank notes, the design of US currency is far less colorful and expressive. What might American money look like if we re-designed it?

Project Objective

The purpose of this assignment is for students to gain historical and cultural understanding of currency and to apply acquired knowledge of visual identity, symbolism, typography, and visual composition to a system of designs. The goal is for the set of designs to be both functional and beautiful in use and form, possessing meaning in each decision and fostering greater inclusivity and accessibility.

Beauty

Preservation is a commitment to safeguarding the essence of our past for the benefit of the present and future.

When we trust, we open ourselves up to vulnerability, showing our belief in the integrity and reliability of others.

Beauty manifests in the symmetry of nature, the depth of art, and the grace of humanity. It is a universal language that speaks to the soul and evokes emotions that connect us all.
